Momčilo Bakrač was born in Vrbas on 5 February 1962, and was educated in Busovača, Topola, Vrbas and Belgrade.
He has published the following books of verses: Samoogledalo (The Self-Mirror, Orpheus, 2006), Žamor ukatakombi (Murmur in the Catacomb, 2006),Wages for Becketting (Nadnica za beketovanje) and Bivša Celina (Former whole, 2008). He has published poetry, and literary and art criticism in literary periodicals. His texts have been included in festival proceedings and anthologies of poetry; his poetry has been translated into Bulgarian, English and Swedish. He writes short prose forms and stories too.
He has participated in numerous literary manifestations.
He has received several prizes for his poetry, not least “Zlatna Struna” (in 2004 and 2006), the first prize of the Ulaznica review (published in Zrenjanin) in 2005, first prize in Naša reč, Leskovac, first prize in the “Šumadijske metafore” contest in Mladenovac in 2006, and first prize in the XIII Saint Sava literary contest in Knjaževac, in 2007.
He lives in Vrbas.
