Ma­ria Al­kan­ta­ril­la (Se­vil­le, 1983), gra­du­a­ted in jo­ur­na­lism, pu­blis­hed the po­e­try bo­oks Qui Scri­bit and 7 Ship­wrec­ked on land (Qui Scri­bit y 7 Náufragos en Ti­er­ra, Dip. Hu­el­va), the col­lec­tion The Mo­tif is the le­ast im­por­tant (El Mo­ti­vo es lo de me­nos, Hu­e­bra ), the vi­sual po­e­try vo­lu­me The Wa­ter of your sha­donj (El agua de tu som­bra, Mu­sa a las 9), which was awar­ded the pri­ze for a mul­ti­me­dia po­e­try Po­e­mad, and re­cently the po­e­try bo­ok She: The Win­ter (El­la: in­vi­er­no, Valparaíso Ed.).
Her ar­ti­stic ho­ri­zons are far bro­a­der and in­clu­de au­dio-vi­sual arts, pa­in­ting and pho­to­graphy. Her works ha­ve been ex­hi­bi­ted in gal­le­ri­es of con­tem­po­rary art such as Co­lo­ri­da Art Gal­lery (Lis­bon), Ca­ro­li­na Ro­jo (Za­ra­go­za) or Slow­track (Ma­drid), un­der the di­rec­tion of Mar­ta Mo­ri­arty. She suc­cessfully co­o­pe­ra­tes with pu­blis­hers and me­dia, such as Le Mon­de di­plo­ma­ti­que or El Rap­to de Eu­ro­pa.
Sh­e cur­rently ma­na­ges the au­to­bi­o­grap­hi­cal wri­ting wor­kshop at the Uni­ver­sity of Ka­diz.
